DREDGE

Difficulty settings?
I have dredge on switch, not steam (not yet at least). I found it very fun and I wasn’t bothered too much from creatures /enemies. My GF on the other hand has a constantly attacked and struggling with enemies, like we are in two different difficulties, but the game doesn’t have different settings (other than passive) on switch. Anyone on here have issues with it sometimes being ridiculously hard? Seems like it should be fairly consistent.

Example, I can be out without sleep for like 3 days, be in the middle of the night with full panic and not have much going on. She can be well slept, go like 1 hour into night and just get attacked by every panic creature there is.

I’ve tried to go as crazy as possible and have issues and I still have less encounters than her in the day.

Regarding the Gale Cliffs monster - as you've noted, it has set movement. It's guaranteed to spawn if you sail through its trigger points (provided it's not already spawning and slinking around). There's not much randomness in that monster; it's largely deterministic. If you're noticing differences, it's likely because you're entering the cliffs through different routes, or are moving through the cliffs at different speeds.

As for the random world events - well, they're random. Every ~8 hours, one of them tries to spawn, but it looks at your current state to determine which can spawn. Things like your current panic level, your progress through the game, as well as your current location and water depth. It's entirely possible that your partner is getting unlucky, but there should be no bias towards certain people, saves or states. It is of course possible for a player to have a random event spawn on them /while/ being chased by a 'regular' monster, which can certainly create the impression that things are ganging up on them.

There's no difference in the behaviour or difficulty of the world between Switch and Steam. As you've already noted, you don't want/have Passive Mode enabled, so there should be no real difference, other than luck!

I REALLY appreciate a Dev reply! that is awesome to see on the forums. At first it did seem like luck but with me pushing 30+ hours in my gameplay and her probably approaching 20+ it seems beyond the luck factor. but as it seems no one else has experience this, maybe its extreme luck. I tried to start out vague because of it being more than just a issue of one thing, all i can ask is to keep this in the back of you mind incase other people end up witnessing the same sort of issue. personally it seems beyond luck at this point, but i also can''t believe if it was a issue it would only happen to one person
