This game crashes constantly

I came back to the game after seeing it had DLC coming up. Started a fresh save, and got 3 of the locations cleared. The moment I started gathering the flames on the volcano island, the game starts crashing constantly. Now no mater where I am, or what I'm doing, the game will crash a minimum of once every in-game day. I have to dock constantly or else lose a chunk of progress.

I've verified the integrity of the game, and reinstalled the game twice. What did they do to this game? I never had an issue when it launched, now it's completely unplayable.

I have a similar problem, hard crashes and restarts my laptop about every 20 minutes or less. I just bought it and got really into it but got my first crash after about 60 minutes. It crashed maybe 5 times since. I installed the newest drivers and reinstalled the game but it did not help.

This is very strange, considering we haven't released an update to the game in close to a year now!

I wonder if perhaps any new steam update - such as the screen recording beta - may be interfering with things? Could you folks perhaps try turning the steam overlay off while you play the game?

Same for me, I get about 30 mins in and it crashes without fail

Tried disabling the steam overlay and it lasted a lot longer, although still eventually locked my computer fully and needed to hard shutdown

Same dudes and Im on a PC that can runs games much more demanding.
Do you have the same problems with Simple Planes or Motorcycle mechanic Sim?

Are you guys on Windows 10 Pro as well? What are you specs?

Hey, thanks for responding! I got back to it today, made sure steam overlay is off, but it already was one of the things I tried to get this running, I got 17 minutes of playtime before getting a black screen and having to do a hard reset with the off button. Any chance you guys are looking into this? I feel like sticking around at least until the next steam update before considering a refund. I love the game but can't really play it! :)

Is there any chance you'd be able to help us diagnose this issue further? It sounds like you've already taken all the right steps, but if we could peek at the game's crash logs, that might help us nail this one down.

The absolute best-case scenario would be for you to drop by our discord server and DM me there. Alternatively, you could:

1. Open the game and get it to crash (if the last time you opened the game resulted in a crash, you can skip this step)
2. Locate the Player.log file at "C:\Users\<your name>\AppData\LocalLow\Black Salt Games\DREDGE"
3. Email that file to us at [e-mail]

Thanks Joel, I found 2 logs and sent them both, Hope this will be enough to find the cause. Apologies I'm basically an old timer, haven't got a discord set up.

The frequent crashing issue has been somewhat resolved (?). As I kept playing through the game, it started crashing frequently, but I saw a post somewhere saying 'if you switch to fullscreen mode, it won’t crash. After doing that, it hasn't crashed even once. Just sharing for reference.

Something is up with the game as while playing my pc black screens and freezes completely, or just kernel crashes (only happens while playing the game, usually with docking.)
