Softlock: lost family crest, no respawn, mission perma-open

So I got the crest, almost immediately got bumped by the local monster, lost the crest.

I read it should either respawn or just close the mission and let the story proceed - but no. And I didn't know that, so I played up to getting a full-optionals boat but it seems I won't ever be able to get explosives - so the game will never end for me.

I don't really care enough to restart at its initial glacial pace either.

Any suggestions before I just uninstall the game?

Are you sure it hasn't respawned near the waterfall? It should have! Perhaps you could sail on over there and share a screenshot.

Another possibility is that it's ended up in your storage somehow through a misclick or something. Could you check there?

Hi. Totally sure, unfortunately.

The waterfall spots are just fish now (and have been for a long time), and it is not in storage either.

[EDIT - So there I was, having one last farewell game before abandoning Dredge. I noticed a strange bubbling in the foggy swamp area (no idea how it is called in English), and... surprise! After a couple of generic metal junk, the Crest came up.

I can't imagine how it ended up there, but I surely am happy I hadn't uninstalled the game yet!

Now on to more Chthulu filetting...]

I'm glad you were able to locate the Crest, but that's VERY strange behaviour! If you felt like helping us out, we'd love to get a copy of your save file and see what actually happened.
