Because right now at the speed its at i will never waste time playing on non passive mode because im not going to kneecap my ability to do anything in a single time frame even with max engine speed. Seriously, how the ♥♥♥♥ did you ever think that losing 25% of your daylight just to leave the middle island group was intelligent or fun gameplay?

Well... in other words I second this. :)
There are regions that are very lovingly drawn, especially for non-maritime residents, so cruising there by daylight (!) with eyes open might lose a bit of challenge but add a lot of joy, recognizing the environment's details.
Remember: Fishermen are said to be no speedrunners! :)

Jet Drive Engine was my first big research for a reason. With enough speed everything becomes less of a bother, even less if you found enough books and improved your light sources, even driving by night is less an issue then. I felt the game progression to be quite rewarding so far.

So youre early in the Game, when you Ship is still slow? Whats so hard to understand about that? Unlock better Engines, to become faster.
Your beginner speed is about as much as a real small Fish Trawler could do.
I think the max Speed is (from my current perspective) about 110kn. Thats far faster than most real Speedboats btw.

This game is super easy to progress in.

I had a max upgraded boat before I even had half the parts researched and half the regions visited.

This game is really easy tbh, but I don't care about that.
Sometimes a nice, easy, chill game is exactly what I need, and Dredge hits that spot wonderfully.
