There are regions that are very lovingly drawn, especially for non-maritime residents, so cruising there by daylight (!) with eyes open might lose a bit of challenge but add a lot of joy, recognizing the environment's details.
Remember: Fishermen are said to be no speedrunners! :)
Your beginner speed is about as much as a real small Fish Trawler could do.
I think the max Speed is (from my current perspective) about 110kn. Thats far faster than most real Speedboats btw.
Looks like you have a misconception about Speed.
I had a max upgraded boat before I even had half the parts researched and half the regions visited.
This game is really easy tbh, but I don't care about that.
Sometimes a nice, easy, chill game is exactly what I need, and Dredge hits that spot wonderfully.
