every time I try to install another equipment the flexible fishing rod doesn't come out it is forever taking up three spaces help me please

Uninstall the rod first and send it to storage, then try to install the new rod. Also note that if your new equipment interferes with the spacing of two or more other pieces, installation will fail.

Since non-fish objects can be stored in cargo, it'd be nice if equipment (for example, fishing rods) could be placed in cargo storage. They'd be non-functional while stored in cargo. This would make it easier to manage changing equipment.

Would you be able to share a screenshot or a video of the issue? This sounds very strange.

When I increased the boat's storage size I was able to discard the rod, but the item from the Blackstone Island DLC was in the fishing rod slots and it also bugged, besides all the fishing slots I couldn't place any item.
