Anyone know what items I should not sell or get rid of?

A buddy of mine told me to keep dogtags around for whatever reason but just the fact this game is being rather cryptic annoys me. So I thought I'd ask here just so I don't shoot myself in the foot.

The dog tags are useful for a few little bonus items at a certain point in the game, but strictly speaking they are not necessary to keep. The same applies for pretty much anything else that is not story-progression-related.

If you're a collecting sort, there's a few unique items out there that you may want to hold onto for their own sake, but the game doesn't reward or punish you for doing so.

The two quest-based items are the dogtags and the bronze (?) buckle. Two respective NPCs will ask for them. That's all I know about, in terms of items you can actually sell.
