Can't Sell Old Equipment?

I've seen a few people play this game on YouTube and they're all able to sell their old fishing rods, engines, etc. I have not been able to do this in my playthrough. Is this a bug or has this feature been removed for some reason?

You can't sell your first rod, but everything else should be ok to sell. Have you tried un-installing them before you offer them for sale?

I sold the rod, you just need at least one usable rod installed or stored.
The engine is with you perm though

Yes, I've uninstalled the items and have them in my storage (since you can't store them on the ship without installing them.
