DREDGE

Other games like that?
Hi, I've played and loved this game, but it was just too short (in the sense it was so good I was sad when I reached the end (both endings)) Anyone knows of other games in the genre? I know that Darkwood is a similar kind of horror (kind of otherworldly Lovecraftian horror) and Barotrauma is similar in the sense that it's a submarine crew with leviathan creatures lurking around kind of ''horror game'', but I was curious if there was more in that genre. (Soma doesn't really count to me, since it doesn't really give the same vibe, it was more of an Amnesia underwater with transhumanism undertone, and it didn't really do it for me).

If you mean the aspect of "driving on the sea with some story" and not so much horror, then in my opinion the most similar game is to some extent the fabulous game RAFT.
If you did not play this before, check it out. However, it is not a Horror game at all (which Dredge is also not too much for me).
I would also have recommende Darkwood to you which you seem to know already.
Of course there are plenty further Horror games out there, but in this combination with a boat on the sea, Dredge is pretty much unique.

Good suggestion, but I know of the game and it isn't my thing, which is sad since I also love survival games, but I didn't really like it. Loved subnautica tho (which now that I think of it, feels a bit closer to dredge than raft in terms of ''water horror'' if we can call it that haha

I wish there were more games that used thalassophobia as the main aspect of their games like subnautica did, dredge had some moment where it did (if you get too far outisde the map, some HUGE monsters starts circling you. Barotrauma is a great example, the submarine feels pretty claustrophobic, you have limited view outside unless you get out (where you get vulnerable) and you can get attacked by huge underwater monsters or even pirates.

Agreed, I forgot to mention Subnautica (and Subnautica II). In my favorite top 5 games of all times. They are just great.
Btw, I forgot to mention also SUNLESS SEA in my answer before. this one may be the most similar game to Dredge in every way.

Bought the game with the dlc, hope I love it, thanks! I'm in the middle of a barotrauma game, which will prob be short since I'm still noob at it, and then jump on sunless sea, thanks for the recommendation, it seems like the kind of game I'll like!

Sunless Sea scratches a similar itch. A lot harder and with more focus on story.
Yeah, Sunless Sea is great, but can be a pain in the arse. You can always just cheat and look up one of the guides on Steam that tells you haw to lessen the drain on fuel, food and sanity.

Sunless Sea is amazing. It's difficult for beginners, but basically the easiest way to make money is to explore new ports. Then you'll figure out new ways to make money (and manage your resources) from there.

Iron Lung is pretty neat too, but VERY short.
