If you mean the ruins, you can sleep until the middle of the day and the beast shouldn't be "doing it's rounds" as it typically does this 2-3 times a day, and you should be able to hobble across to the Dusty Pontoon even with a done in motor, a place which you can repair at.
TL;DR - not soft-locked
Oh, ok get it now. Congrats on getting out of it. When I've had an issue like that I've found resting until the monster leaves (I've never had any of the monsters stick around for too long if you sleep at the dock unless they have a glitch) and then leave about an hour or two before dawn (seems to allow your fear to drop a bit again during the day which helps) and limp wide (but keep the land in sight) around the island back to the main area? Occasionally you get unlucky with other stuff, especially if your fear gets too high (red eye) so worth being completely rested and avoiding the dark and fear inducing things like though red clouds as much as possible. Also second RequiemRose's suggestion about the engines. I researched those one square engines as soon as possible and put at least one or two of those in there as if you have only one or two larger engines it becomes a much bigger deal if they get damaged.
