trouble reporting Rare Fish to Traveling Merchant

Is anyone else having trouble reporting the rare fish to the Traveling Merchant? I can't remember which one it was, and I've tried all four. Are there more than 4? Do I have to have the fish in my cargo when I report them?

Nevermind. I figured out what I was doing wrong. LOL. People as dumb as I am should Not be allowed to breed.

I've caught all four but I don't see how to report them all to the traveling merchant.

It's a dialogue option regarding what she wanted done.

you have to click on her portrait in lower left, i only tried with critter in inventory

You don't need to have it in inventory, just recorded in the encyclopedia. I turned all 4 in at once, after I had sold them.
