Can't get to the secret ending.

Well to be more precise I talked with the lighthouse lady, and found the old mayor way before finishing the game first, but now that I'm at the end of the game, both the old mayor and the lighthouse lady do not show up anymore when I start the last mission... am i missing something?

You take the book from the collector, then take said book to light house lady without returning the last relic.

Ohhh so before I start the last mission, I get the book and go to the light house, cool that makes sense.

But I thought you cannot get the book before you returned the last relic ? The collector would only want the last relic from me.

I think you need to talk with the lighthouse lady and the old mayor before returning the last relic, maybe not talking with one of them might cause it to lock the book.

It does not actually matter if you hand in the relic first. You then get the options "I'm ready", and another where you can ask about the book. As long as you don't say "I'm ready", you still have all options open. This is how I did it, since I didn't even know about the conditions at first.

Obviously the option will only appear if you have done the steps with the old mayor and the lady first as mentioned above.

I also experienced this issue. The problem is all of the guides online assume you never found the mayor before finding the last relic. You can meet the old mayor and progress the "truth of the book" storyline much earlier, at which point the "secret" ending options are available and the old mayor will have disappeared from the map. If you ever found the old mayor, skip that part of the guides.
