I would have liked it if it didn't have the horror elements.

I enjoyed the simple fishing and selling and upgrading the ship. Sadly, I don't enjoy horror type games. I dislike being underwater as well, so no Subnautica for me, or Raft... I could see the game being enjoyable if it was more like stardew valley friendly, or more colony builder style. Different ship types would have been more neat too, and more cosmetic choices.

Have a look at "Moonglow Bay". It's not 100% what you're looking for, but pretty close. While it does have some dark elements (there is talk about a "curse" affecting the town), its overall atmosphere is very wholesome.

The leviathan and the whale jump scares in the open ocean are the only parts of Dredge I really disliked. Everything else can either be mostly ignored or easily avoided.

As The Grand Mugwump implies... You can play Dredge with a lot less horror, if you avoid moving around at night. Try finding a safe dock by 6pm and sleep till the next morning. You can get most of the game "pursuits" completed in the daytime if you aren't trying for a speedrun. Just chill and take your time. Try to unlock a bigger boat early doors, as that improves your chance of avoiding being sunk in an attack.

The leviathan in open ocean was the only jump scare that got me. Of course there was a warning on screen for a solid 20 seconds before that so... guess everyone takes a plane in and out.

It's a game set in the Cthulhu - Cosmic Horror mythos, and you're surprised it's "scary" Confused. personally I love Cosmic horror and am always happy more games are brought in there's unfortunately not alot of good games in this mythos to scratch that mind itch

I like the style of the game, I didn't like how the people drawings looked. The game is quite boring, though, and I find I'm not going to play anymore. I did a few quests.. I'm up to a point where I went to some island and some guy wants me to find a few items. I'm bored with how long it takes me to get to places. The fishing part is boring and not fun at all.
