Yeah, especially the confined areas meaning that you've got your hands busy enough just trying to not lightly graze the various obstacles.

Without getting too detailed, if you follow the quests for the guy looking for relics, there's one that will probably help make the volcano area less annoying, which you'll get in the area before the volcano.

Of course, it's not at all required in order to complete the Devil's Spine, but anyone getting a bit fed up will probably want to grab that to make things less of a hassle.

I found bringing a lot of whaling explosives helped me in this zone. As there is a lot of walls that can be broken down.

It's actually a cakewalk when you know that one detail.
Which i am glad i got to learn early or else it'd be such a pain.

The Geysers.
They do you no harm, but if you stay above or have a geyser inbetween you and your pursuers, they will burn, give up and flee.
And as you know, the biome is covered in those geysers, even the ruins provide shelter because there are geysers right at the entrances.

That is why you sometimes hear them "scream" because they ended up touching one of them.

I know.
The whole area is annoying and id prefer it to be more calm and only dangerous at night.

Yeah same here. That whole section of the map is a pain in the ass. Also, the final trial flame is completely unintuitive as to which fish you need to get.

It's an active volcano. By definition, not a safe place. Go there early on, you ought to think "This place is too dangerous for me now, I'll come back later", and when you go there towards the end of the game, you'll have a much easier time of it. There's no rush. You can remain in the more quiet, chill areas of the game to prepare for your excursion into what ought to be obviously the most difficult region.
