Eldritch Horrors And Where To Find Them

I've almost 100% the game, and beaten it a couple times, so now the fun is testing the limits.
These are all the monsters I have played with so far.
1. Marrows - There's a Ghost Angler that seems to be the weakest. Easily avoided with even one motor upgrade. Hard to play with since they turn fast.
2. All Regions - The Great Bright Shark appears suddenly in front of you and seems unavoidable until you max out your engines or have Haste equipped when it appears.
3. All Regions - The Devil Ray will appear and follow underneath the boat for a long time, but is easily outrun. More of a scare than a real threat.
4. All Regions - The Kraken is only seen as a single tentacle making it hard to tell what it really is. You can catch a view of a Sperm Whale eating one so maybe it is a squid. If you speed along quickly when it breaches you can avoid getting smacked.
5. Gale Cliffs - The One-Eyed Serpent is also easily avoided. If you are fast enough you can get on top of it and follow it around since it cannot attack backwards or turn quickly.
6. Devil Spine - The Blind Mother can be avoided easily if you avoid her children. If they latch onto you, make for a thermal jet to try and lure them off. Mom cannot be banished but her little ones can.
7. Twisted Strand - Mind Suckers are killed as part of the main story and as far as I can tell they are the only monsters you can end.
8. Stellar Basin - The Anemone-like creature from the abyss cannot be harmed, but banished and suppressed down into its lair. Attacks with a single spear appendage that is not fast enough to hit you at high speeds, it won't even try anymore.
9. Deep Sea - The Leviathan is a classic sea serpent like on the edges of old maps. At moderate panic nearer to land it will hit you with its dorsal spines or merely announce its presence by flashing them. If you don't head back immediately you will be swallowed. If you are fast enough, you can switch to manifest and teleport out before the jaws close.

Any monsters I missed or exploits unknown?

The Twisted Strand also has the Roots? tendrils that try to surround your craft and crush it, much like the Kraken Tentacle. Similarly, keep moving at a decent speed and they will miss.

Yes. I didn't think of that one. The mangrove vines are their own entity separate from the Mind Suckers that will still attack you even after you destroy them.

The Ghost Anglers can also be avoided by going between rocks, as they are twice the width of your boat and will give up if they can't follow directly.

I had tried that with the Blind Mother, but not the Angler. It does not seem possible to compel these monsters to hurt themselves.

There's also the various Hermit Mimics, but they are really just traps. I can't get them to do anything but perform a single strike. I lured a tentacle to come out and placed myself on the other side of the crab, but it didn't damage either of us.

The game could use one more tier expansion for your boat that lets you hunt monsters with great difficulty. Trap the Cyclops Serpent in its tunnels with explosives. Depth charges to seal the Abyssal Anemone away, or take the Blind One Boss down like Jaws.

im currently trying to see what happens at the map border - the dotted line im assuming its the border- also trying to be eaten by the leviathan all ive gotten so far is the warning dorsal fin hit.

EDIT: i got 3 1/2 squares out before the warning came up and 5 squares when i as eaten

My fastest engine configuration is 110.3kn. With all the books, and Haste, I repeatedly went straight north. I can only get to J30 before getting eaten. That matches the result you got as well. The true border seems to be 5 squares past the dotted line.
