And the things I'm speaking of are not issues of budget, but rather of ability. The reason it's like this is because this is the best they could do. If you've seen Phasmophobia or really any other half-hearted VR mode, you know exactly what I mean.
It seems fun only in an ironic way, like "oh, it's funny that it's so bad and that everyone is crawling around like Octodad" but I suspect after that wears off, feelings would turn more bitter than sweet as you remember "oh right, I paid money for this."
The VR works actually very well. Considering it is a small team that is just doing it as an extra, plus the game is priced for only 10 euro.
The interactivity is fine, same as using the menu. Even some VR only games, like Into the Radius, have a way worse usage of the menu that your character has in his hands.
The characters are glitchy though. I played with a friend and he was moving around as if he was Michael Jackson. Not THAT bad, but later he showed some recorded gameplay of my character and seems I was just glichting all over the place, very often.
You have to tinker around with OVR to change height and there is no crouch button for VR.
So if you plan to play seated be warned.
It's not missing much to be enjoyed in VR imo, but they should give it another pass to really call it full fledged VR support.
Agreed. Other then issues that I'm having with my controller bindings (Index), this game is as fun as, if not more fun, than Phasmophobia. I hope that they continue to update the VR side of things.
