red shield faces red sword
green shield faces green sword
red spear faces green spear.
Both shield-bearers have to face each other. If the shield-bearer has green eyes, every red-eyed warrior has to face it. If it has red eyes, every green-eyed warrior has to face it.
EDIT: actually never mind, NVRLCKY suicide had the correct solution with
Perhaps a stupid question, but does someone understand the REASONING behind the puzzle?
I see different solutions, but never understand the reason why they work
"The defendants of Sobek face one another, bracing for impact against their counterparts blunt attacks.
Warriors favoring long-ranged combat face the close-combat specialists and vice versa, matching their gaze in all regards."
Solution:
Shield facing shield
Spear to sword, matching their eye colors. So red facing red, green facing green
I think I see the reasoning.
My first riddle (see original post) wasn't really about balancing, but just turning the statues to represent the positions mentioned in the riddle.
Personally, it was confusing by saying "their allegiance split by armaments of old" and the "equal battle of weapons and wounds" part. Made me belief there was a sorts of balance needed but it's just turning the statues to the positions mentioned in the note.
All in all, seems best not to overthink the riddle, like I did, and just keep it simple.
Please do not say something as though you know it to be a fact when you don't.

It's been interesting to see how this puzzle has stumped the most people, from what I've witnessed of people coming for help in discord.
