they might be invulnerable? Cause I don't recall any of them actually dying when I tried that.
However at the end of that map when you play whack a mole it will be Mummies and Cobras and those Cobras do explode very nicely. Can't recall the name of the map but it's the one with the acid trap with the moving floor and pit of unexplodable snakes that you can ignore and bee line to the boss.
If you time it well and let a few cobras spawn you can probably get ~3+ per bundle of dynamite. Just have to make sure they don't get too snacky on the alter.
The one puzzle room with 4 cobra head statues (The one where you need to find the right path using the Geiger Counter), there's a cobra "locked" up in the cage to the side of the room. You can use the TNT near the cage door and it will destroy the cobra.
It worked for me every time, and it's a bit faster / easier than the banishment route of having to figure out the Mejai, solve the Ushabti puzzle, and then risking the banishment going wrong. Just go in, blow up the cobra, out, and re-do.
Though I agree, this task is a little ridiculous. I hope there's some adjustments to make this one either less tedious or a bit easier.
