Working without Games for Windows Live

Will this series of games (Dawn of War 2 and add-on Chaos Rising) move to SteamWorks or another service ? Games for Windows Live will soon unavailable.

There's no official announcement that Games for Windows Live is closing. All just rumours. Just wait and see what happens.

GFWL will be shutting down completely as of July 1st 2014. This date was finalized months ago. Many games have already patched it out. Bioshock, Batman etc.

I've all 3 DoW 2 and the only I can't lauch since my last play yesterday are the two with GFWL log in!?!?!? :-(
Retribution has Steam for multi and it starts ok!

So this is not only a rumor, but something is happening.... only a coincidence?

Not a rumor, GFWL dies in March 2014, and not before bloody time.
It would be a shame to lose DoW2 with it but the marines would understand the sacrifce to kill such a terrible beast.

And yeh, the space marines would totally sacrifice themselves to rid the world of the horror that games for windows live (dat name...) brought to Pc gaming! lol

I'd say old games getting GFWL patched out is more than a fair indication that it is confirmed.

Can't find a Microsoft official announcement, but if games like Batman Arkham have moved to Steamworks, it's pretty clear what's about to happen.

I hope Sega lets Relic patch their games to avoid GFWL.

Set game to open beta to get it to work on steam, this will also unlock achievements and other stuff.
right click on the game in your library, the opt in for the beta is in the last tab of your options menu.
