Installation of DoW2/CR/Retribution
Hello, I'm not very familiar with Steam so this may sound like a silly question, but I purchased all three DoW2 packs (no dlc) and have just installed DoW2 the base game and started playing before installing Chaos Rising or Retribution. I've also been given a code key that I'm meant to install apparently (it's supposed to ask me to input this code).

However when I booted the game up I got the Chaos Rising screen with the option to play both campaigns and access content, I presume (i don't know i've never played it before), from the expansion as well. I was also never asked to input a key.

Now this isn't a problem - or is it? Is this what's meant to happen? What do I do with the Chaos Rising file I've yet to download? Is there going to be a problem if I install that as well or can I justr now skip to Retribution for the full package to be installed?

Hope that makes sense, I just want to avoid any weird issues that might arise. Thanks.

Steam always provides you with a key even if you don't need to input it.

Ok thanks.

What about Chaos Rising? Is that now integrated into the basic game? Surely I can't install it twice!

I think it is. When you trigger an install it's instantenous.

I don't think that's right, each of the 3 packages is a separate download in my library and i've only installed the base game. Chaos Rising and Retribution are not listed as downloaded/installed yet.

Yes, but doesn't the basic DoW you've just installed already offer you Chaos Rising? It's messy, but it works out reliably in the end. Retribution is a separate game instance regardless.

It does and i assume, though i don't know for sure since i've never played the game before, it's the complete game + CR. So do i need to install CR from the library? Surely not then, and i can just get on and start downloading Retribution (which is going to take a while)?

Download Retribution. I think CR downloads instantly, but never mind.

I've just installed Retribution. Since when did the Tau get added? I thought thtat was someone's homebrew mod, not an official addition?

There is a Tau character in Last Stand, and that's it.

Oh well!

I went to the Army Painter and got excited :D

BTW is Retribution meant to have such huge loading times at the end of a mission?
