Windowed mode?
I can't get the game to play in a window for the life of me. Does anyone know how to fix that?

launch full screen mode
He GuesssWho, when you are looking at your library list in steam, you need to right click the game (Dawn of War II in this case) and select "Properties". In the General tab there should be a Set Launch Options button. Here you should be able to input
-window
or
-windowed

And this should force launch anything into window mode.

Let me know if you have trouble!

I'm pretty sure I already tried that.

Yeah, neither of those seemed to work
That's strange.

I just inputted these settings and it loaded up Dawn of War II successfully in window mode.
Are you sure you inputted exactly "-window" into the launch options? It needs to have the "-" in there as well.

Yes. It might be my laptop or something, maybe?

I mean, there's technicaly a window now. But my mouse won't go to it, and there's no minimize button anyway.

It does sound like that it may be working with window mode, however when you do go into game it will lock the mouse inside this box. This is due to Dawn of War being a game needing to pane left and right by dragging the mouse in this area for useability.

There is a sortof workaround by minimizing it using the windows key and clicking on the action buttons on the top bar and this can make it scroll the mouse outside this window (can be tricky to do), however it would make gameplay difficult as paning left and right is a huge part in the game.

Sorry I couldnt help further!

Thanks for trying at least

Something I just figured out, if you put both -window and -freemouse into the launch options (so "-window -freemouse"), DOW2 wont steal your mouse and potentially something close to what you are wanting to do.

Also, because it seems you cant change the size of the window when you input -window mode you might also be interested in forcing the window to specific size specs:

-w <width> - Forces the engine to start with resolution set to <width>.
-h <height> - Forces the engine to start with resolution set to <height>. This launch option does not need to be set in the presence of -w. The width value with determine the height automatically.

:)

This doesn't work. Is there any file I can edit to set a custom resolution?
