Should I play DoW2, Chaos rising or retribution?

I own all of them but I dont know which is best.

Chaos rising has really good choices, Retribution is kinda hit and miss the story feels more flat because its about more than just one faction, Regular DOW2 sets up Chaos Rising and then Retribution

Play every single DoW game ever made... maybe skip III though.

DoW 1 is best, Dark Crusade. Saves your bases intact, so when territory is attacked, you only need do the tech updates and you're up to speed with your last status on the map.
DoW 2 before Chaos Rising because it lets you promote your char. from the original campaign.
Skip 3, waste of time and repetition in campaign also.

I played original Dow with all expansions. Soulstorm is failure not only in regards of campaign but even ragarding new units for existing factions. I was curious what is recommanded to play for DoW2. Now I know. Yes I know about DoW3. Devs not listening to fans, grind and lack of content killed it.
