Game doesn't save

I bought the game few days ago and everytime when i play the first mission and safe the game in the mission selection screen nothing happens. If i press on save and o back to menu and want to play again there is only a button with start new campaign.
I reinstalled the game, steam cloud is activated and i don't know what I should do now.

I encountered a similar problem. The only difference was that I had game saves for all races. Then yesterday I went in and found that there were no saves. =(
Moreover, I started to play again and pumped the hero to level 6 (out of 10 possible).
In general, today the game prompted me to play again because there are no saved games

I am having the same problem. I'm on Day 65 and wanted to grab a couple relics before the final fight bringing me to Day 66 or 67 but when I save it just returns me to day 65 to Merridian no matter where I was when I saved. I finished out the final fight and the same thing I'm returned to day 62 at Merridian. So I started Chaos Rising and it doesn't matter how many missions or how many saves it starts me out every time asking if I want to start a new campaign or import a finished campaign that does not exist even though it should.

Yeah I've tried everything deleted and reloaded all 3 games DoW2, DoW2Chaos, DoW2Ret and still won't save. Deleted and reloaded Steam and nothing. Disconnected from cloud nothing. Reconnected to cloud nothing. Apparently this has been an issue since at least 2013 so almost a decade and they can't fix it? I'm getting no help from the game's customer service. Is there no way to contact someone at Steam about this? There must be some way to fix this issue. I bought the Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II - Grand Master Collection which includes all three DoW2 games and now I can't play any of them? What exactly have I paid for? The threads from the Retribution discussions regarding this matter says it happens from time to time. It has been this way for almost a month now. I am not happy with the customer service I an receiving for this purchase and it will certainly affect any decision I may make about purchasing any more product from Steam in the future.

This is what I got from Sega Customer Support. None of this worked. I fianlly reinstalled Windows and now it works again. Try these things first so you don't have to reinstall all your apps though.

1 - Please try to set the compatibility mode to an older windows OS. Try using these steps:
- Right click on the game icon shortcut
- Click 'Properties'
- Choose the 'Compatibility' tab
- Check the box 'Run in Compatibility mode for' then choose either Windows 8/7/XP...
- Click on 'Apply', 'OK' and then try to run the game using the same shortcut

2 - Verify the integrity of game cache as follows:
- Load Steam
- From the Steam Games Library, right-click on the game and select 'Properties' from the menu.
- Select the 'Local files' tab and click 'Verify integrity of game files...'
- Steam will verify the game files - this process may take several minutes.
- Once the process is completed, the check window will automatically exit.

3 - Move to location C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\dawn of war 2\_CommonRedist\vcredist\2005\ and re-install the redistibutables that are within the folders

4 - Check your save game / profile folder under %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Dawn of War 2\Saved Games\ whether this and the parent folders are (still) allowed for access via Steam and the game .exe.

Additional variant: backup your savegames in the "Saved Games" folder, create a new profile ingame, then exit the game again and copy over the content from your old save data to the new profile. Now choose the new profile after restarting the game and try if you are able to proceed and save successfully now.
