Hi NICO,

We created a group for macOS and Linux players to meet and play games online:

https://steamcommunity.com/groups/maclinux#

We hope this helps.

Consistently crashing very early in the first mission, shortly after the first attack has begun.

Looks like audio problems – the crashes are varied but (for those where I attached gdb) all in libfmodex64.so. I've also seen it hang rather than crash.

ALSA is in use, headphones are plugged in. (The device in use is virtual – there's a physical device which is split in two for headphones and stereo speakers.) Hardware is ALC1220.

Other possibly relevant information: Linux 4.20.7, Mesa 18.3.3 & LLVM 7, RX 570.

[Edit] With some other, presumably older, versions of that library, the game works but without sound.

(On Linux (debian sid) with steam runtime disabled.) I had possibly the same issue as Not Mr Flibble. Crashing after the first unit voice finished playing with a message on the console (sometimes) about linked list corruption. I saw on the gamingonlinux forum that loading the shipped libtcmalloc helped, I was still getting crashes at a later point though (possibly when there were lots of voices?), using the system asound seems to have helped, I can at least get through the first mission. My launch parameters now look like:

LD_PRELOAD="../lib/x86_64/libtcmalloc_minimal.so:$LD_PRELOAD" FERAL_SYSTEM_ASOUND=1 %COMMAND%

It kept crashing occasionally on various sounds but changing the audio frequency seems to have stopped it.

Hello, I'd like to know if both MacOS and Linux versions are either 32- or 64-bit?

Hi SojerManLan,

Both the macOS and Linux version of this game are 64-bit.

We hope you enjoy the game!

I've been getting consistent stuttering and patch lag after the first mission or so. Steam says something about a new login and it will take me back to the main menu after loading, but I can still play. However, my game gets incresingly more slow each mission, with longer and longer load times between.
Sometimes, the lag will go from 1-10 seconds while doing anything - In game or in menu. Switching gear, clicking a character. Anything. Like a cache doesn't exist and it's taking super long to load up whatever it is I'm trying to do. I turned my settings down to as low as I can, and it still happens.

Thanks, with these launch options the game doesn’t crash anymore very early in the tutorial (when it says to right click on an ork to shoot him), however the game just crashed again just after destroying the tower.

I’m going to try changing the audio frequency…

On Gentoo, ALSA, nvidia.

Edit: it seems that reducing the overall audio quality helped, it didn’t crash this time! Let’s hope the rest of the game will be ok.
