No pause button on keyboard

I want to play DOW1 and 2 on my Surface pro, but the keyboard has no Pause button. Anyone know an up to date workaround? I tried editing the 'keydefaults' file for DOW2 as some suggested, but that doesn't seem to work (and I couldn't even find that file for DOW1). Any bright ideas?

Doesn't it pause when you hit ESC?

No - it's the old 'pause/break' key that pauses these 2 game, and it doesn't exist on lots of modern keyboards...

for DoW 1 it's F10 to pause the game

No F10 brings up the menu (which also pauses the game) but its the Pause/Break key that lets you pause the game and still issue commands in the single player game. That's what I'm after...

(Have realised I may be misremembering - maybe it's only DOW 1 that allowed commands whilst paused?)

Too bad there isn't one for DoW 2, or at least a way to slow the game speed down. I find myself too busy with cycling through squads and using abilities to focus on what's happening on screen in a lot of situations.

I found the same problem. I either need 1 person to micro each squad or a pause function
