How do I invite players for a local co-op? I have been struggling to add a second player. Kinda tough without a help option

im having trouble remote sharing. for some reason my friend controls my square instead of having their own...

I am having the same issue. I cannot invite a friend to join and when Remote Access invite is sent they have the same controls as me rather than their own. Cannot get more than one paint brush active

Hi there, sorry to hear that. :(

Have you tried playing on a keyboard +a gamepad instead of two mouses/keyboads? It's a Steam Remote Play limitation, it just doesn't support 2 players on mouse or keyboard, so one of you need to use a gamepad.

was there a fix to this issue? im trying to do it with remote play and my friend is using a gamepad but there isnt even a option in the menu

I am having a similar issue. I see the help for the controls, but when I click a button to have my couch co-op join, it still thinks I am playing as one person but using a different key to play. Am I missing something?
