Any luck getting palomino or buckskin foals?
Hey everyone! I am currently trying to get a dapple buckskin and dapple chocolate palomino from breeding, and I've gone through quite a few rounds with no success. For the dapple buckskin, I've been breeding bay creams with bay dapples. For the dapple chocolate palomino, I've been breeding a chocolate palomino with a dapple chestnut. Am I doing something wrong? Has anyone had success getting buckskins or palominos from breeding?

I have had a few buckskins, I have a buckskin Stallion that I got from the wild that has had loads of lovely Foals, a few of the Foals was buckskin but I have had other lovely colours/patterned Foals from him, I have 1 palomino Mare (from the wild) that I have bred about 3 - 5 times but have had no palomino Foals from her or any of my Horses

Your doing the right thing for both coats, it's just luck based. You need the foal to inherit both the cream gene and the dapples AND then roll for the correct cream variation. So it's just RNG. But because your using parents who only have one of each it's a lot harder.

Cream/Dapple x No Cream/No Dapple= 50% Cream/Dapple and 50% No Cream/No Dapple for example, but if both parents have cream/dapple then it's guaranteed.

You would thus be better off saving any bay/cream/dapple or chestnut/cream/dapple foals and then breeding those together. That way your guaranteed cream and dapples in the foal and just need to wait for RNG to get the correct variations that you want.
