i haven't obtained any overo horses yet, but it's reasonable to assume that you can probably breed 2 overos together, since as stated before, the genetics system is very basic (foals can inherit either coat "base color" from their parents, and patterns are separate). i do think some sort of education about olw would be good, but maybe instead of preventing breeding them entirely or resulting in the real-world horrors of olw, it should instead reduce the chance of successful pregnancy by a significant amount.
White horses with dark eyes are grays. There no real "white" horse, so I wasn't sure if I need to report the lack of blue eyes if they're meant to be double creams OR the lack of actual gray (like fleabitten, dapple, etc). You can't have white without the other grays, and gray foals are obviously born dark colored and change over time. Just not sure if proper blue eyed double creams are even in since I'm not that high in the tiers yet. >o< If anybody sees one, let me know. <3
Call me crazy, but I think olw breedings should either not be allowed (and maybe if you buy one, Madelaine talks to you about olw so that when you try breeding one, the error message it makes doesn't come out of nowhere) OR there's a checkbox type setting for just a hefty pregnancy reduction chance rather than straight up erroring out. That said, olw is no joke and I really don't think it should be included if there's no education around its breeding.
regarding olw, on second consideration i do feel that the breeding on them should be restricted.
Issue with dom white though is that it isn't found in Mustangs and there's only a handful of breeds its in, so wouldn't apply in this case, unless our mustangs are mutt horses. Mustangs do have double creams AND gray though (as well as like max sabino and max splash but neither of those really go all white without deafness and other issues) and I don't think sabino or splash are in yet.
It is assumed to have way more W genes or subgenes that influence the W genes, aswell as Tobianos, Overos and other white marking genes counter-react with them..
So I wouldnt necessarily say the "white" horse ingame isnt realistic as it may exist in Mustangs, just hasnt been pinned down yet, considering the White Spotting genes exist in pretty much every breed and isnt fully explored yet.
I'd say the white horse ingame could be anything from a loud overo/tovero, odd fewspot appaloosa, sabino to dominant white/white spotting or combination, as the more white genes you have, the more likely a full white horse with brown eyes is possible. ^^
Lots of different theories for certain! Fun discussion overall. <3
If it were to be a grey horse I'd find it unrealistic, as grey/greying horse do not have pink skin, they keep their normal grey skin as its not affected by missing pigment (as white markings would be).
So I think its most likely a form of White Spotting that expresses maximal, aka Dominant White. I'd just really like them to be on a higher tier, as tbh. they are super common in the common tier, I almost get more whites than anything, which wouldnt be realistic in any way imo.^^
I dunno if since then you got the answer you were looking for, but i can confirm that there are blue eyed white horses sold at the auction. Just realized after a few in-game days that my white horse had blue eyes :D They're kinda dark blue so you really gotta zoom in the face to notice, they appear brown otherwise
