If anyone else comes accross this:
When you want to increase tameness by riding, you don't need to calm down the horse, your player does it for you. Just keep trying to accelerate. I got 59% tameness on my first day of speed/flexibility training (starting by 0% tameness) just by getting into canter and trying to get into a galopp permanently. Once in galopp, immediadly slow down into canter and repeat.
You need to capture a wild horse or try to ride a horse you bred but haven't trained while being a foal.
Their tameness stat will be 0% then
But you can capture wild horses before unlocking the round pen, so I ended up with a bucking horse and was wondering, what increases tameness until I unlock it!
Yes, I figured it out in my own first response.
