Mane/Tail genetic

Hello !
I have two stalion with very long mane/tail ( which also doesn't have straigh hair ) but when breeding, I never have a foal with those long mane/tail when yearling. Should I wait to see if it appear when fully grown up ? Am I unlucky on the genetic ? how does that work ?

I'm starting to think it's random between short, straight, and long mane/tail. I've had two horses with medium hair produce a foal with short hair, and I'm pretty sure there isn't a recessive inheritance system.

That said there are plans for your horses' mane and tail to grow over time and for you to cut and style it at the boutique! I believe the boutique will be in an early access update but maybe check the roadmap on that. When exactly it will be, I don't know.
