How to play FS2 with Autotranslate + edited english translation file(incl. DLC)
tldr: download the Reipatcher version of Autotranslator; follow the install instructions on github; you might need to launching and close the game first; finally replace the _autogeneratedtranslations.txt file with the one I supplied.

For those of you still looking for an English translation... There is a mod that can translate unity games like this called AutoTranslator. It was originally coded by the person who brought us the bepinex tools. This mod works by detecting untranslated text and querying translator endpoints such as bing Google and Deepl. As an end-user, ideally you want to use a pregenerated translation file (linked below) so you don't have to wait each time it needs to translate. Unfortunately, the translations you get from the website are FAR better than what autotranslator outputs. Probably API issues, idk.
Here is the github link to the autotranslator tool. https://github.com/bbepis/XUnity.AutoTranslator/releases
***Make sure you get the REIPATCHER version. read the install instructions on the github page. It's pretty straightforwards.***

The original translation was generated by @dunno from the Fanslation Studio discord back in 2021. Most of it was understandable but I decided to make edits in my own play-through. After putting some effort into it myself, It's clear @dunno put in tons of work editing for the primary story content, but most of the other stuff was untouched.

Unfortunately a side effect of translating this way is that only the content you see will get translated... So there were a lot of missed translations in that file. I tried to be thorough in my play-through but I know there are still lines that need translating. Intentionally choosing wrong options is too much work. Of note, I added DLC content translations.

Aside from adding some missed translations, I also...
-cleaned up some of the punctuation
-made the combat terminology more consistent so that it makes sense
-reduced some of the text overlapping in the UI(not all).
-A lot of ctrl f, ctrl h in notepad++.
-Fixed text of a few puzzles where translations caused confusion; hopefully I got them all. (rearranged order of words, readded missing words, chinese wordplay)
-some retranslations
-probably added some mistakes but shouldnt be much

The story dialog is mostly untouched from dunno's file since it was pretty good. There are still parts the need polishing so it will occasionally read like a bad machine translation. I would argue that this is at least on par with the official chn->eng translations of many other games. (which is a low bar, i know)

This took way longer than I expected and I won't be providing any updates. Read the readme if you need instructions.

I hope more people can enjoy this fine game. Thank the people who worked on AutoTranslator and @dunno for the original file. My own contribution is small in comparison.

Thank u :lovebs:
Thanks for the translation work but also thank you Azmhyr for bumping this because I had completely missed that there is a way to play in English (even if slightly awkwardly) in all the threads about the official translation.

The mega link seems down, could someone upload it if possible?
