ROUNDS

Game looses visuals
When rounds came out I played it so much, love the game. But about a month ago I started getting an issue where the game will freeze my whole PC for 5 seconds then loose all visuals/graphics.

This happens regardless of any software/hardware updates, setting changes, aspect ratio etc. This will happen after about 5 minutes of playing on first launch then after that will happen within 20 seconds of launching the game after the first instance. I have been on the same hardware since release and had no issues until this bug started occurring. As it currently stands I cannot play the game, vanilla or modded. I have also tried a full game reinstall, windows update, GPU update, Bios update but nothing has resolved this issue. It also seems to be happening in TABG. TABG being another game I enjoy and now cannot play due to this issue. This doesn't seem to be effecting other Unity games.

When this bug happens I can still control the game and have audio, just no visuals causing me to see through to my desktop. The game will crash not long after, giving me a driver error. I've spend probably 5 hours total trying to troubleshoot this issue but no dice.

My current Specs:
Windows 10 64 bit
AMD Ryzen 5 5600x
AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX Sapphire
G.Skill Trident Z Royal 4x16GB

Devs please let me know if you need any further info. Would love to be able to play Rounds and TABG again if you can help.

Sorry to hear you're having these issues with Rounds and TABG. Not sure what could be causing it sadly, but there are some troubleshooting steps you can try.
  • If you haven't already, check if you tried the potential solutions at
    https://landfall.se/troubleshooting
  • If you are overclocking your GPU, try resetting it to stock settings. MSI Afterburner is known to cause crashes.
  • It's possible that there's a third-party application interfering with the game. Start the game without running any other applications in the background. You can also try to perform a clean boot on your computer, which will prevent programs from starting automatically and running in the background. More info here[support.microsoft.com].
  • There is another bug where having a device connected to the computer can cause the game to crash, it has been reported to happen in both Rounds and TABG. Check if you have any controllers or other peripherals (joystick, racing wheel, foot pedals, wireless keyboards, USB hubs, webcams etc.) plugged in or connected to the computer. If so, try unplugging/disconnecting all devices that you don't need and see if the game works better after that. Also check for devices that are recognized as gamepads, for example some keyboards show up as gamepads and can cause the game to crash (Wooting keyboards are known to cause crashes).

Already tried all of your suggestions. This issue started happening randomly out of the blue after being able to play both games perfectly fine for a long time.

I think that certain files for the game aren't there, because my friends had more files then me and seem to play the game correctly. Even a full uninstall and reinstall wont fix this issue, so it could just be permanently broken.

I have a friend in the same house with the game. I could try coping his files into my steam folder and see if you are right.

Used my friends download files and it didn't make a difference. I can't even launch the game and get to the title screen before it crashes.
I have the same issue, did you manage to fix it eventually?

It got fixed either by a game update or GPU update eventually. I just play modded so I have no issues now.
