You can also try removing all mods to make sure they aren't causing any issues, and then reinstall the game.
Thank you! I have tried most of those, but for the ones I haven’t, I will give them a go soon and follow up. I’m assuming something within the mods have messed with the audio, so I’m hoping that fixes it.
Hello again! I have tried those steps and am still having the issue. I was able to get a new Windows Update, uninstalled the mods completely and reinstalled Rounds. My volume mixer shows that Rounds is not muted as well. Any other possible solutions?
So uninstall via Steam, then check that the game installation folder is gone. This is the default location: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\ROUNDS
You can also remove this folder in AppData:
C:\Users\your username\AppData\LocalLow\Landfall Games\Rounds
Then reinstall the game. You can also try updating your sound card drivers and make sure your audio output device is set to default (steps here[support.thebehemoth.com]).
One more thing you could try is to perform a clean boot to make sure no programs on your computer is interfering with the game. More info here.[support.microsoft.com]
Hi again. I took a decent break from trying to troubleshoot, but I am revisiting this issue. Thank you for all the suggestions and patience thus far!
I attempted total re-installation of the game and audio drivers with no luck.
I went through the steps for a clean boot and, with everything disabled besides Steam, I still had no in-game sound. Im wondering if something in my game files is bugged or if I am just super unlucky, but I am not totally sure where to go from here.
Edit: If it can be of any help, here's how I resolved this issue today. I don't know anything about audio interfaces or anything like that, I just like to casually play guitar. I've found this guy on YT who gives a tutorial on how to "Play Rocksmith 2014 ONLY with an Audio Interface (RS Asio), No Latency, Full Rocksmith Guitar Sound". I installed it and then my audio device became unrecognizable by the game. I deleted the files of this above mentioned mod, but still had issues with sound. Then I checked my sound devices in the Control Panel. At least 2 output devices were set as default devices (which is odd). I have a laptop and soundspeakers connected. So the system started to identify both devices as default for some reason. I turned off my laptop output sound device and left only the speakers. And checked whether they are 16bit, 48k hz etc. Then I restarted laptop (windows 11 btw), launched the game, and the the sound device was working correctly.
