Controller not being picked up

I have an xbox one controller connected, it is detected in windows and works in every other controller game by default (I have just checked before posting in Rocket League). But for some reason it will not be picked up in Rounds? Any ideas

Try these steps: Open Steam and click on "Steam" in the top-left corner > Settings > Select the "Controller" tab > General controller settings > Make sure the box for "Xbox Configuration Support" is checked.

This has also worked for others: Right-click ROUNDS in your Steam Library > Properties > Controller > Under "Override for ROUNDS", set it to Enable Steam Input.

Thanks, I cant use the xbox config as it screws with my home made controller but turning the override (didn't know it was a thing) to enable steam input worked perfectly and preserved my other controller.

i tried these methods but it still doesnt work i have it connected to my pc using a usb cord but it doesnt do anything when i press A to join the game

Try launching Big Picture mode and select the game in the library. In Manage Game > Controller Options set Forced Off.
You may end up preferring the mouse though

This actually worked. Thanks. Not sure whether I prefer mouse or controller. Leaning towards mouse even tho I spend a while trying to get the controller to work :s

I had to do the opposite. Opened in big picture -> settings gear icon -> Properties... -> Controller -> Enable Steam Input in dropdown
