Isonzo
The end is here
With the last expansion for Isonzo released. What will be the next front for the new game announced this summer ? There is really only two major fronts left, the Middle Eastern and African fronts. You could say the Baltic front too, although it was somewhat covered in Tannenberg.

You forgot the Balkanic front, around Macedonia and Serbia. The war kind of started there (in Sarajevo), and lasted until November 1918 (even 1919 if you include the French-British actions in Russian civil war around Odessa).

That said I would loooove to see the African front (especially von Lettow-Vorbeck's campaign in Tanzania), but I'm not sure whether there are enough large battles in that theater (not an expert, but apart from the Battle of the Bees, isn't it mostly an ambush/skirmish front?). Maybe in a later game in a "package" of lesser-known fronts, with e.g. a few battles in Cameroun and Tanzania, plus the siege of Tsingtao and maybe a battle in Pacific (if there is a land battle in Pacific large enough to be played "realistically" -if historically there were 5 wounded and 2 dead in a battle, it would be hard to have a map with 16v16 fight during half an hour and a realistic death toll-)?

Also, not sure whether this is part of WW1 series scope, but Russian Civil War could be of interest as well, and is full of concepts and events that look like they were made for videogames (tachankas, Makhnovtchina, Czechoslovak legion, Baltic wars, the Mad Baron, and I'm sure tens of other things that I never heard of). Also (but definitely out of scope that time), the 1904-1905 Port-Arthur siege.

It's got to be focused on the Ottomans as they are the only major power not depicted yet. They can revist Russia in the Caucuses and the British in Mesopotamia/Gallipoli. Even throw in some French if they feel spicy.

I agree that a Russian civil war game would be great though.

Did yall forget about Vittorio Venetto? It is still to be added and since it was a very important battle in WW1 yea i dont think the devs are just gonna throw it into the trash

It's unclear if it is, they've said it's not the end of the road and that the book isn't closed on Isonzo. They've only said no new expansions, which tend to be thematic set ups with multiple maps, weapons and cosmetic packs. So they might continue to do smaller content updates.

Not on the road map tho.

they're so much things left to do, they should not let the game like this and keep oingoing update it. as few say, there some major battle that was not cover yet like Vittorio-Venetto and much more. Also they sould add cross play beetween PC and Xbox/PS and find a way to attract a bit more player.

The fact that the licence survive the failed of Tannenberg is kind of a miracle so they should not do another game now this road map ended.

I'd rather they don't add cross-play (at least not in public games). Console FPS games tend to add an "aimbot" to compensate for controller's limitations, and I would prefer playing with fellow mouse-users than with aimbot-users (no offence meant to console players -I know that FPS on gamepads without aim assist are unplayable-, but they really have the same effect than aimbot cheaters in a game shared with mouse users).

They haven't ruled out extra maps, just not doing the full expansions now.

Crossplay between Steam/Epic and console isn't possible as they run different game builds and limitations. Effectively means downgrading the PC experience to have them play with console.
I personally would love another western front game, just with better graphics/ mechanics. And maybe this time, the inclusion of vehicles!

Vehicles would require an entire rework of how the game works and plays that impacts all the maps despite them being on only a few of them. Part of why the Devs have said they will stay focused on the infantry combat I think.
can you add the same system as in Verdun the attacker attacks for a defined time and once this time is reached the defender becomes the attacker and vice versa, this really makes the feeling of war and in my opinion more interesting

I'm suggesting this specifically in the context of a brand new game. These new mechanics could be exactly the thing which could make the next one so interesting!
