That said I would loooove to see the African front (especially von Lettow-Vorbeck's campaign in Tanzania), but I'm not sure whether there are enough large battles in that theater (not an expert, but apart from the Battle of the Bees, isn't it mostly an ambush/skirmish front?). Maybe in a later game in a "package" of lesser-known fronts, with e.g. a few battles in Cameroun and Tanzania, plus the siege of Tsingtao and maybe a battle in Pacific (if there is a land battle in Pacific large enough to be played "realistically" -if historically there were 5 wounded and 2 dead in a battle, it would be hard to have a map with 16v16 fight during half an hour and a realistic death toll-)?
Also, not sure whether this is part of WW1 series scope, but Russian Civil War could be of interest as well, and is full of concepts and events that look like they were made for videogames (tachankas, Makhnovtchina, Czechoslovak legion, Baltic wars, the Mad Baron, and I'm sure tens of other things that I never heard of). Also (but definitely out of scope that time), the 1904-1905 Port-Arthur siege.
No, but just that there would be an big announcement coming this summer
I agree that a Russian civil war game would be great though.
Not on the road map tho.
The fact that the licence survive the failed of Tannenberg is kind of a miracle so they should not do another game now this road map ended.
I'd rather they don't add cross-play (at least not in public games). Console FPS games tend to add an "aimbot" to compensate for controller's limitations, and I would prefer playing with fellow mouse-users than with aimbot-users (no offence meant to console players -I know that FPS on gamepads without aim assist are unplayable-, but they really have the same effect than aimbot cheaters in a game shared with mouse users).
Crossplay between Steam/Epic and console isn't possible as they run different game builds and limitations. Effectively means downgrading the PC experience to have them play with console.
I'm suggesting this specifically in the context of a brand new game. These new mechanics could be exactly the thing which could make the next one so interesting!
