Nevertheless i am most times in the upper range of stats. And the game looks still great for me.
Have fun with Isonzo and don't look for your PC specs to get a millisecond more. That is not necessary to have good stats and fun when you've understand the game mechanics.
The distance level of details for example is trade off, where certain objects wont be rendered earlier on low settings and if your not in ADS, but also will be harder so see through when you go into ads and actually try to make the shot (in ads they get rendered again). Also seeing through vegetation is not easier on low settings.
From playing the game both ways (everything Ultra, no hud, realistic gameplay... vs isonzo e-sports, all low) i dont think low settings are necessary to be competitive on the average server. Just choose what ever pleases you visually, it wont totally change your effectiveness on the battlefield.
P.S. avoid using anti aliasing in isonzo, both available settings make the game look worse when your in ADS
On the other hand, if that impedes my progress maybe War of Rights is a better option, where success is judged more at group level.
Maybe it would be nice if servers required a certain GFX setting (like low, medium, high) in order to join.
Like i said, its not as drastic in Isonzo. You can put everything on ultra, turn bloom and motion blur on and still totally wreck a server, the games playerbase is simply not competitive enough for it to make a significant difference.
The only thing you should never use is anti aliasing because its not well implemented and will make the game look worse, but thats true no matter if you are on low or ultra.
If you are more experienced and able to reliably identify uniforms, you can also completely turn off the hub, which makes the game pretty immersive imo. Unfortunately we dont have dedicated "hardcore" servers yet, where no hud is forced, but give it a few months and i might manage annoy Blackmill into doing it :P
And lastly the game doesnt look much worse on low, so even if you feel like you need every last fps, its still a good looking game. Hope that helps and we meet on a server soon

Thanks very much for all the info, and I'll look at my anti aliasing settings. See you in the mountains!
