Questions about 'single player'
I'm seriously considering grabbing this game while it's on special.

I plan to play Predator, and my research indicates that the AI Marines/Fireteam will just know where I am and come find me even if I'm cloaked.

1. Obviously that's far from ideal (it's not called Predator: Waiting Grounds), but the real question is: What are the actual gameplay effects of that?

Like, that sounds sweet to me. My trophies are going to deliver themselves to me AND I get to take the first shot of the battle?

I assume it's not quite that simple, or the forums here would be filled with high-skilled players complaining about how easy it is.

So how DOES it work?

2. Assuming I do get into playing the Predator, and I want to play against others, how will I know if I'm just being a ♥♥♥♥ (vs kicking their ass)?

I guess I'm asking if I can play 'with honour'? (i.e. is that a realistic goal?)

I understand that others don't care about this and I'm just making this harder for myself, that's fine, I'm not playing for them I'm playing for me. If there were a team of Yautja it would be different, but it'll just be me.

3. Questions for the veterans here: What's your least favourite thing about this game, and what's your favourite thing about the game?

Thanks in advance for any useful/serious/entertaining replies!

#2:Even in the Movies, Yautja are WITHOUT Honor. This Idea of "Predators Have Honor" always Cracks Me up. Almost their Entire Arsenal is meant to Snipe from a Distance...while Cloaked. Even the ONE Melee Weapon in the Movies--the Wristblades; BOTH the Spear AND the Disk are used mostly for Sniping--is ONLY used when the Quarry can't Fight Back. (Generally Speaking.) Never got the Idea where this "Predators=Honor"♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ came in from. THAT SAID: I would Recommend No Nets/Traps, Distance against only Heavily Armed Personnel, Smart Disc ONLY at Melee Range, Wristblades used for Melee than Slaughter, and Cloak ONLY until Spotted. (Assuming Observation Mode while Cloaked and not Sneaky Sniping.) That said, these Tips ALSO Increase YOUR Changes of Getting KILLED! LOL (ESPECIALLY the Melee one. I am NOT ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ You; do NOT Engage Melee with AI FT!) Which as they are Heavily Armed, Distance would be Honorable then, Minding Above Caveats. The Gist of the Advice is that to be a TRULY Honorable Predator, you WON'T use the Yautja's Tactics--Killing While Unseen or While Victim is Incapacitated--from the Movies!

#3: Have a decent chunk of Playtime; nowhere NEAR "Veteran" Status and have Largely dropped off for a Variety of Reasons. ( I REALLY need to get back into it though, LOL) I'll Pass this one for that Reason. Also, throw this out on P:HG SubReddit; the Steam Predator Fanbase aren't really the best Players to ask for much of Anything. Low on Skill, Low on Knowledge, and Hesitant to Helping Others out when they ask Questions like Yours--or ANY Questions AT ALL. The P:HG PRedditers--My Own Coined Term, LOL--are more composed of PS4 and Epic Players, who are far more Knowledgeable about the Game and more Skilled as well. Hope this Helps! :)

Thanks for your reply - that's the *exact* kind of feedback I needed, I've grabbed the game now so I consider this thread answered.

You raise excellent points about my ideas of Yautja Honour - the one or two with honour in other media are the exception, not the rule. Having said that, I'm still keen to try out those limitations you mentioned, to see how viable an 'honourable' run might be (even if only on certain maps or whatever).

It doesn't sound like it's really designed for it though, but at least I know that now.

Perhaps I'll need to be brutal for a while at the start to become strong enough to make an honourable hunting style viable. Such is the nature of the Yautja, I see that now. (he said, fully aware of how it sounded but not being able to think of a better way to word it)

Sidenote: Genuine thanks for disagreeing with me so strongly without making it personal!

Notes for Fireteam AI: they still doing the same thing. Game starts, they EXACTLY nkow where are you and waiting at the tree where you on! Till you cloaked they do NOTHING, the moment you drop cloak they attack you and hunt you down the half map liker a hunting dog! Insanly OP firepower and no chance them against even one on one. Don't even think of attack them with wrist blades.
Except that you can still practice with bots, you will get XP and veratanium same way and progress in challanges. Also you can insaly modify the game settings. Enemy HP, reinformecent, starting ammo, etc.

Pretty much only PVP, the devs have basically abandoned the game too so don't expect ANY singleplayer content, EVER.
