Also don't rely on Steamcharts because it counts only players from Steam and this game is cross-platform.

edit:
funny how someone give me this clown reward, even tho my comment isn't wrong at all, but hey thx for free points.
so i'd do the answer you should have gotten.
the gameplay is about 4 players that are in a Fireteam, which have to complete all tasks of their main mission to be able to exfiltrate and finish the game.
so you'll meet lots of NPCs during your completion of the main mission.
but here's a Predator player that have the objective of wiping your Fireteam, so you'll be against both NPCs and the Predator player that is into killing you, making your main mission to become harder to complete.
the Predator player can be killed after being put into a mode called "second wind", which is activated after having its healthbar fully depleted for the first time of the game, that mode is disabling the Predator's weapons, and allow the Predator player to either heal to continue the game, or to activate his bomb as seen in the first movie, you'll have to disarm it to get an alternative ending win, the Second Wind will slowly recharge after the healing, but if the healthbar is fully depleted again without the Second Wind to have been recharged, then the Predator won't be able to heal again, and be forced to either activate his bomb, or to accept his death.
I Read the other answers. The ones telling you that people blasting the Game because of low Steam Player numbers are dead on. ANYONE relying ONLY on the Steam Counts for this game's Popularity--or lack of, depending on your POV--are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Morons.
That said, I do recommend it on Sale, and a Steep Discount if you can get it. Preferably at about $20...when you count in the Base and ALL the DLC. ($30 at highest.)
The main Reason is because while the Game IS playable in its present State, there's numerous occasional glitches and Illfonic has stopped ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ caring about the game AT ALL. Getting them to PROPERLY address bugs was a total ♥♥♥♥♥ before; not it's almost impossible. The AI is at the level of most 90's games, and the ONLY Releases have EVER been Skins that i can Recall. (Even the ONE 'New' Map Pack was little more than Reskin, and it cause a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of bugs when it was Released.) Illfonic was told they should have added a One-Player dimension, they said ♥♥♥♥ off. It would have had more RePlayability if it did.
It's a decently fun game, however, as it is...IF you get it at around the Price Point I mentioned. You can even half-ass a One-Player mode by playing Private Matches Solo with Bots. As FT you will NOT face a Predator, though, unless you can find a Friend to play as one, because there's ZERO Pred AI. As Pred you demolish a...semi-competent would be TOO Generous--AI FT.
Hope this Info helps you in your Decision! :)
remember that if you wouldn't have reached the 2h of playtime, you'd have 2 weeks after the purchase to decide if you want to refund it or not, meaning that whatever how good or bad your internet is, you'll be getting time in the taking of your decision about the game.
the "Steam Player Count" is a counting of how many players are playing at the same time/day, so it's sometime used by peoples like the #1 that is trying to put down every games they can by talking about "how low the playerbase it is".
but like i said in my #4, Steam doesn't represent the full playerbase of the game, for the reason that here's the crossplay feature between many other gaming platforms, which is Epic and Playstation, so don't worry, you'd still be meeting players from those other platforms, coming from all the countries of the world, i could play perfectly with players coming from both America's, while being a Frenchman in France.
right, i forgot about the players on epic. so you can add a handful of them.
i think the average between 100 and 150 players ?!
Which means you Forgot about a THIRD of the Playerbase...the LARGEST Portion of the Playerbase, in all Reality. So, yeah, there's that. That extra Third is about three times the Player Count on Steam and Epic COMBINED. So...
I also forgot to Mention; Steam is NOT the best place to get REPUTABLE Information. The Playerbase for Steam is not only largely Unknowlegdable and Unskilled, they are Rarely--if EVER--helpful for N3wbs seeking Information on ANYTHING. I try to answer as many questions as I can, but I am also largely Ignorant of the Game outside of anything in Singleplayer Private Matches, as I don't really do PVP, either. Unfortunately, I'm ALSO a SOLO Player, which means I don't have much Info on Co-Op Modes, if any even exist int he Game. (I think they do as of a couple Updates ago, but don't Quote me on that.)
Do yourself a Favor and head over tot he Predator: Hunting Grounds SunReddit. It has a ton of the most active players and the PRedditers there--my own Term, LOL--are generally more Knowledgeable, Skilled, AND Competent than almost ANY Steam Player, LOL
The Bulk of the Game is PVP, but they might also have Co-Op Missions. I can't Remember all the Updates and details. From what I'm seeing on the Web, though, it's Co-Op ONLY in the sense that if you Play FT, you are playing with a Group of People toward a Single Objective. (Actually, a Series of Objectives, as it were.) It's Online Asynchronous Play. (Meaning you have to Play with whoever's Online at the Time.) If you have Friends, you can invite them to a Match. Private Mode is ALSO Co-Op in that sense.
But as far as I can see, there's no Split Screen Two or Four-Player type ♥♥♥♥ in the Traditional Sense of Co-Op. (Like with most Console Games played at Home, etc.)
Hope this Helps Clarify ♥♥♥♥ some.
