Why multiplayer only?

They finally make a game out of the movie and it's multiplayer........bleh. This game could've been a killer single player experience. Another great IP ruined

Maybe a detective game or retroactive investigation to what happened to a Klowned Town could be a neat solo game, but even then you the player would already know every twist because you saw the movies so it would not be particularly exciting unless it further expanded the lore of Klowns beyond what the movies had(lore tapes in game do this).

That also probably isn't an appealing pitch to any side of development. Games that retell movies or do micro stories in the world have effectively died and for good reasons.
The movie itself is almost entirely duo or group scenes so I don't know why you would expect a "singleplayer experience" of the film to begin with.

If it were single player it would probably be a short game as the movie is only an hour and 25 minutes. Not sure how a single player game would work exactly either but I hear you. Would you play as a Klown or a human? Both? Would there be choices or just story-driven checkpoints? Would there a be a story beyond the movie? I could go on, but a lot of questions if it were a single player game. I'm actually surprised that a game of any sort came out before a sequel, I know they were trying to make a second movie which eventually became a kickstarter project but even that couldn't raise enough money.

Ai is complicated and the Human team bots are not very bright as it is. Klown AI would struggle immensely.

They didn't have any problem turning The Warriors into a good game. There's nothing stopping Clowns from being one either. I was disappointed the recent Chainsaw Massacre game was multiplayer only too... like man, come on. Luckily Stay Out of the House was a really good game inspired by it.

That was nearly 20 years ago, AAA gaming is dead dude. The Warriors game was peak though ngl.

Yeah I'm just complaining about everything getting turned into multiplayer games lately. I like multiplayer games but not for IP's like this.

They could at least add a single player experience like the VR cabin (I think that's what it was called) in Friday the 13th. I'd love to play something like that. Also the other single player challenges in that game were fun to play. I know they came much later after the game's release so I don't expect it right away.
