Clown weapons outside of Popcorn/Bombs range from bad to outright self sabotage
Title. been trying my best to get away from the meta to make the game more fun but these weapons arent just worse options. Some of them are actively harmful towards your teams chance of winning.

I wont even mention the travesty that is the shotgun weapon, but the charge ray and gobstopper flail require a survivor to be both right infront of you, hold no weapons or no will to fight, and have no stamina to even attempt to pull of a charge shot. they actively have to let you hit them or not know how to play.

The two meta weapons are pretty cheap because they're massively overtuned, but the state of every other weapon barring the starter two is making the situation even worse!

The game's balance is definitely in question and makes you wonder if they did any internal testing or even know the source material at all. Aesthetic? Nailed. Humans being able to stun a clown with one bop on the noggin? I don't think so.

Certain things like not having weapon stats but some of them seem to randomly one shot you is incredibly frustrating, it would be nice to at least know if the weapon im going up against is something I need to worry about or not. On the other hand getting hit by a cannon shots that aren't even aimed from miles out of a clowns usual weapon range feels incredibly annoying.

Overall I like the game and think for the most part they nailed it. but each side has one of two things that make me think "have these people ever played a multiplayer game before".

Well games like this often only present you with like a few feasible ways to win a game, and then when you use them everyone gets mad at you for using the "meta". Like, omg guys, can't you just use all the terrible weapons and characters so i can win?!

I think the problem is the strong weapons tend to feel like they lack counterplay.
Realistically your only option with most of them is "hope you aren't caught with low stamina" which is controllable so losing to them is a skill issue.

The problem with the current strong weapons is that your skill as a player doesn't really come into question. The counterplay is "has this killer player ever played a video game before" if the answer is yes you get hit repeatedly until you die.
Its gotten to the point that I just feel bad even using some of these weapons, but the alternatives are just a frustrating loss.

Like I have been saying in other discussion boards, the game seems to favor towards humans working together in the beginning since klowns don't have their abilities unlocked. However as time goes by, klowns are more strong and can deal with humans, regardless of their items, at least if they work together.

gobstopper flail is fine, its a melee weapon with a far range snipe for chasing, charge ray is meh since its job is what the bouncecaster is being used for but its a bit undertuned with the overheat rather than overtuned like the bouncecaster. once the bouncecaster and popcorn blaster are nerfed I think the flail and ray will fill the niches that they hopefully leave.

No, those two weapons are grossly overtuned. The rest vary, but they're far closer to the base power level where things should be, or you end up with the DbD problem where unless you're all on voice-comm, survivors only win if the killer is social and lets them, they're in full control.

Which is fun for a little while, just not for very long.
