Softlocked by an escort mission?

So I'm on chapter 3 and finished the mansion area, I started the side quest escort mission "Creative Collaboration" taking the grandma back to royal Town. But she refuses to go either way that potentionally go there, and I can't use the fast travel either so I'm stuck at the snowy village. Am I missing something or am I stuck? I'm enjoying the game but I really don't want to do everything again.

I also got softlocked there. Not because she refused to go, but because the game and all the inputs hung and became unresponsive.

I'm just leaving that for now. Unfortunately, I think that is how you get the shop discount badge on that area, so... Buy your goods elsewhere.

I'm on Nintendo Switch. What are you playing it on?

I'm playing it on pc, I already saved after starting the mission and as far as I know it can't be abandoned or cancelled.

It's sorted out now, I reloaded the save and the grandma refused to go the intended way because of a cutscene with jester.

Similar thing happens if you attempt to do the escort mission with the Queen's parakeet before you've seen all story related stuff that unlocks the next area. It seems to be a recurring problem with escort missions when you haven't seen all the necessary cutscenes to unlock the next area. It can get pretty bugged.
