Can you use rewind to force an enemy to drop their Soul in Aria of Sorrow?
I ask because Tsuchinokos are a pain in the butt to kill early on and I'd like to get that out of the way sooner than later...

Yes, I just got all souls and I used it for a couple of them. If the killing blow doesn't spawn the soul, you can rewind to just before that hit and hit them again for another try. I'm not sure what RNG is based on but I tried to vary my subsequent hits in positioning and the timer to be safe.

I wouldn't recommend doing it on the Tsuchinoko early though, it'll be harder to vary your hits if you aren't oneshotting it with the Claimh. You also don't really need the Tsuchinoko soul until you're ready to buy the Soul Eater Ring and at that point you can get back there pretty quick.

I know how to cycle the game's randomizer, actually; figured that out on the GBA years ago. You just have to use an item or use a different Soul for the killing blow. Thanks for the confirmation!

As an aside, that's a pretty classic catch-22. Getting the Tsuchinoko soul is an utter pain in the arse if you don't have the Soul Eater Ring, and getting the Soul Eater Ring is an utter pain in the arse if you don't have the Tsuchinoko soul.

So a pick your poison situation. Nice to know I have some pain to look forward to when I get to that game in the collection.

Getting the money I chose the mimic soul and spikes. Is there a better way to get money than being a masochist?

Cheat Engine, most likely.

Not especially. Mimic + fast high damage is the best way to make money. I usually use the Basilisk near the Top Floor save point to get petrified, let him whittle me down to about 200ish HP, break free, and heal up at the save point. Takes about 30 minutes to get the money for the ring that way.

The Clock Tower has a set of spikes next to a save point, and that's way more damage in a way more controllable manner.

Yup, that's how I made my money. Put on a 30 minute Youtube video that didn't require full attention and jumped out of the pit just before dying.

Exact same method I did last time I played through, but I would've liked to not make the same mistake last time of missing the Legion soul and having to rush NG+ for it.

I found on Reddit a different way to farm the money! There's a room behind hammer with 5 zombies, you get 9 of their souls and combine it with brass knuckles to get a ~25k profit every like 5 minutes! I enjoyed this much more than spikes
