you missed out that a lot of such game, due to "gray area" get banned off steam. Once banned, no way to appeal, absolutely nothing, so a lot of devs (but not all) on steam do patches separably.
Any Kagura games will have the free restoration patch on thir website. DO NOT POST DIRECT LINK. As mentioned regarding that gray area, some valve employees gave temporarily ban to some users. And to be absolutely clear: they are fully aware they are not allowed to do so, but know they can't be caught.
Anyways. Just to be clear: all restoration patches are free. No account needed or otherwise. Just access game (on KG's website) and look for download link for the patch.
For any such patch: you need to start the game (steam version) at least once (as a program, no need to start New Game). Once you did that, close and than start the restoration patch.
