Though I wouldn't think it would be worth playing at 8k if you are getting only 40fps, I'd rather play at 4k and a touch of shapening just to keep fps up.
Yeah I play at 1440p on my monitor at 165hz, or my 4k OLED tv forced to 1440p at 120hz.
Doesn't normally dip below 100FPS on max settings.
Resolution isn't the be-all and end-all, especially if it's dipping to 40fps.
RT is only in Forzavista, performance impact would be an issue in the open world. If you are used to stable 60 fps, even drops to 55 are an issue...
I usually set graphic settings for around 70% gpu usage to never reach 100%. I even put SSAO to High instead of Ultra because of drops in the city.
It's like watching a supermodel trip and fall every few steps.
It's a game, I don't play with the fancy steering wheels and pedals and such, I didn't feel like using a controller, I said "test" for a reason, im testing to see if the GPU can even run it at 8k and 40FPS is fine for a racing game.
I play Forza to drive like a maniac and crash into things normally anyway, just like a lot of other people I see driving around so you making that statement is idiotic. Also I don't tune all the cars so that they steer perfectly or shift better or anything. Basically im not actually TRYING ..because I don't care.
Neither do I... 40fps? lol! that's unplayable.
Pretty much ANY actual racing game benefits from min60 framerate, as controls are smoother and you do get some additional time to react to sudden changes.
This is also ignoring the not insubstantial amount of people who can get horrible motionsickness and eye strain from lower framerates in games involving rapid traversal, and that is with a flat, locked framerate that never changes.
Kind of silly of you to claim it's fine, but then acknowledge you don't really play the game and thus have ZERO clue what you are talking about.
This pixel mania I can not understand is moneymaking but who likes it from me on
40 FPS is not good for a racing game. I can't imagine playing Forza at 40 FPS or other racing games such as Asseto Corsa and Asseto Corsa Competizione. My rig can very easily do 4K and probably 8K without issues however I choose to play at 1440p. It's a good balance of picture quality and guaranteed very good FPS on a high refresh rate monitor on the maximum graphics settings. Again I really don't understand the point of playing at 8K with 40 FPS.
Been gaming for 20 years, al sorts of gamins frome racng to FPS to space..etc.. if I say it's fine at 30 or 40, then it's fine, it depends on the person, for me it's fine.
Also as I already stated this was a test, im obviously NOT going to keep gaming like this because the frame time alone is crazy high.
if you get 40FPS with an extremely low frame time, then it really would be just fine, for me anyway.
When i was young, i loved the game Split second (30 fps on console and it was fine).
Now i can't stand fast camera below 60fps but like i can't stand 1080p anymore because screen is so sharp that i see all imperfections. The issue is just that i become more demanding.
