change car takes a while in fh5
hey boys please tell me what can I do...... in FH4 I never had those problem but now it takes a longer while when I want to change my car, or select a new decal, or tune it up. black screen appears, nothing works, and then I finally change the car. I got all of my 12 cpu cores at 5.0 GHz and run the game in 1440p with Extreme settings (6900xt) with over 110 fps. everything is fine, installed on M.2 NVMe very fast but gets on my nerves when I wanna change car or tune it. What could I do, all other games including FH4 have no lags. thank you. edit: when I load the car the second time, its very fast. and the longest time my game takes when I buy new cars. normal or problem?

Try cleaning RAM and VRAM

It's 'normal'. Also ignore harpic. you can't 'clean' RAM or VRAM. Indeed if those are at all running into issues it would be quite noticeable in other games.

The game seems to just have some odd loading times on a number of things, irrespective of hardware horsepower. I've lost count of the number of times it's somehow managed to take 15 seconds to load the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pause menu.
5800x and 3070, + on SSD and 64GB of RAM, no excuse whatsoever for the game ever doing that, short of shoddy code.
ok fine it seems the game has that lags you say and its not about my hardware. never noticed that short freezers in FH4 before. i have good fast loading times, but that car switch is so annoying sometimes, haha.

My PC is way less powerful than yours but changing cars takes between 1 and 2 seconds, not more.

And the game isn't even installed on my SSD.

I checked the installed files now, it loaded some new. will try again later. maybe thats the problem. changed resloution to 4K@Extreme and still 100FPS, but switching cars lasts too long for my personal feeling, lol

---edit: car change now takes no time, just loads and its finished, great stuff now. But after buying new cars I really take 10 seconds til my car is bought. loading bar does not change, I think its lagging for some seconds.

why do I have that problem in here and in game itself not a single problem? so fast loading times and 100fps in 4K with Extreme Settings? Will install on SATA SSD instead of M.2 NMVe later on.

Works now, here is what I changed:
Needed to deactivate the RayTracing Option for ForzaVista.
Now I can handle the new cars, car parts, tuning, within a second.

What's this raytracing option for ForzaVista by the way ?

I have a GTX1660Super so I'm not supposed to be able to use raytracing, yet I had it set by default on "High", still have it on "High" but I'm not encountering any issue because of it.

It utilizes ray tracing but just in the Forza vista showrooms or whatever. It's kind of a waste of time.
you can only use RT in ForzaVista mode, and it caused my problem there. the maingame does not use RT so I deactivated this option and now it runs very fast again. I read there is a mod to use RT in game, will test it with my 6900XT. this evening I will play at living-room monitor in 4K. so if people have that problem as me, try to deactivate RT in ForzaVista mode, you dont need it and now everything is loading well. --edit maybe I makes problem cause of AMD GPU, dont know, maybe nvidia cards can work better with that mode. But still useless.
