for me personally fh5 is better- bigger map, more space, i like the climate and biomes, driving feels better
It's not a "story game", so don't be afraid to skip the previous games in the series. Just jump into the newest one and enjoy! :)
Map in FH4 is less diverse, but thanks to that more consistent. FH5 is mini-mexico with jungle, farmlands and desert. FH4 is mostly covered with hills and forests.
FH4 has more content at the moment, because its all planned DLCs are already out, while FH5 still waits for 2nd expansion and possible car packs.
My opinion, FH4 has more well designed race tracks than FH5, especially dirt tracks if you like racing in mud.
FH4 has 4 seasons that switch every week. FH5 technically has them too, but there it's just variations of wet/dry.
Get 4 only if you want snow or ranked
