Constantly crashing....I can't be the only one.

Game has been SOOOO laggy since the Hot Wheels update, I re-installed yesterday and it seems even worse. What's going on and does anyone have a solution?

I think it's a memory leak of some kind. The game works fine on my gaming PC with lots of RAM and VRAM, but on my steam deck I can only play through a couple of scene changes before it crashes loading a new area (beginning/end of a race or travelling to/from the rally expansion) and often locks up the deck. Really frustrating.

I've got a 3060ti and 64gb of RAM :/ if it needs even more than that to run for longer than 3 minutes, that's sad :( Thanks for the reply!

My game is crashing for the first time ever, now that the rally expansion files have been laid in. I really dig the content so it follows that I do not dig it stopping in place. I get end of races crashes. Freeze frame...have to stop the game and start her up again. It also is lagging badly sometimes now. It is unplayable sometimes. I shut off the game and Go live my life some. I have played 500 hours of FH5 and this poor performance of the game is new to me.

Yeah it's horrible, I haven't been able to play the game since the hot wheels update. Crashes after 5 minutes. Amazing game I love it. Wish I could refund it but sadly I can't.

Bought the game yesterday, finished three races but it crashed at the end of each.

If you Google for "Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files" you'll find this Microsoft support page.

I ran the DISM command, and then the SFC command which found and corrected one bad file. Since then i've had no crashes, however your mileage may vary

Haha that's more like click bait than a workaround. Easiest way to get most back is to delete the tune that you have on your car and then re save it, but if you've multiple tunes for the same car unfortunately you have lost some. Or until there is a better fix.

I can safely say, I rarely used to crashed in FH5 despite the numerous threads on here.. but today I've crashed 4-5 times which has never happened before.

Mine crashes immediately when it gets to the loading screen (on PC)
