Report a translation problem
I encountered a corruption of my save file but I was able to fix it and I would like to share my experience for anyone else getting a reply from Forza support saying that you will lose part of your save.
The Problem/Crash
When you start the game and you get to the first screen before you "login" and after pressing Enter to login a press Continue and the game crashes just after your Xbox username shows on the bottom left side - "Hi Username!".
Forza Support
I asked Forza Support and they sad to try to unlink the Steam user with the Xbox user and create a new Xbox user to be linked the Steam user. This is to test if the crash is in the game or your save.
My case the a corrupted save file. The "help" from Forza Support was that I need to delete my 850+ hours save file and start a new one. But they will be able to restore my cars, money and inventory, as stated on the support website:
"Due to technical constraints, we cannot restore any lost progression such as experience and campaign completion. However, we can return your inventory which includes cars, credits, and wheelspins. This process is only available for Forza Horizon 4 and Forza Horizon 5."
So I was obviously pissed that I would lose around 10k Forzathon points and nearly 500 skills point, not even mentioning my ingame achievements and just hours of live i spend playing the game.
Possible backup
But when I was looking through the game save files (folder: Steam\userdata\XXX\1551360, XXX is the user ID i think), I saw the file User_XXX.ProfileBackup (the XXX is the user ID) next to the corrupted save file User_XXX.ProfileData. So I renamed the .ProfileData to .ProfileData_old and made a copy of .ProfileBackup and renamed this copy to User_XXX.ProfileData. This accualy fix my issue and the game was able to load the save and works (for now).
I dont know if any one else encoutered this problem but I rather share is so you can try at least something to save your save.
Thank you and live long and prosper.
I have no crashes what so ever with an AMD 7800 and a 4080 RTX.
What @Sherlok commented is what has completely stabilised the game for me without further crashes since.
561.09 seems to be the stable driver for this game. 14900k + 4080s.
