That said I don't know how FH4 feel since I did not l;aunch it in months.
fh4 feels way better in this way. i wasn t playing fh4 since fh5 release but i reinstalled it 1-2 weeks ago because i missed the highway drag.
you can see all players on the whole map (till 72 players). in the players list at last you re able to see every players class/tuning and if they re close to you also the cars they re using.
all that i really miss a lot in fh5 because in fh4 its way easier to join players/groups for the highway or just racing around all map. even if you need to switch some sessions for finding what you re searching for...way better and connecting as fh5.
Cool story, and that's great for FH4 players. What matters to me tho is my ability to find lobbioes each time I feel like playing with others and, so far, I n3ever has troubles dinding any.
That's not a dead game to me, especially when Steam alone gets an average of 8k players online. Theres many dead game that struggle top keep triple digits like most Need for Speed games.
At some point this "this game is daeddying" comnversation when a multiplatform game gets 5k average players on Steam alone is completely braindead.
This is not the only games victim of these kind of threads tho, I've saeen people saying Lost Ark was dying because it has only 300k players online.
Do you struggle to find tunes, lobbies, liveries, event labs? Nope, then game is obviously not dead.
sure it is never a problem to find a lobby but you can t see players on the whole map (only in your area) like in fh4 and it suxx for joining people who re racing around the map. in the case i want racing up and down the volcano it is much easier because you can stay there and switch sessions till you find a active one.
They also changed the server structure where there isn't just a big server.. it's more like nfs rivals where you have 1-10 people on the map doing things... while in fh 4 you have a big server with a lot of people to meet.. I still remember the times where 20+ people joined the forzathon events.. meanwhile here... arcade is dead since release lol. Nobody does it. Nobody joins. Coop stuff takes ages to find a lobby. It's sad.
Btw .. lost ark is dead too. 90% bots... 9% player at endgame. 0,5% afk macro fishing .. 0,5% in early map progression
I think the fact you can't see as much players roiaming the map on FH5 is a limitation of something, bit that it really bothers me personally, I still see a ton of people driving at 400kph+ on the highway like I did in FH4. The only differebce I feel is when polaying the arcade events (that are very repetitive in both games anyway).
The problem, for me, is not the l;ack of people you meet in the open world but teh lack of things there are to do on the open world with others and that's, again, a problem for both games. Let's hope next installement will improve interactions with others.
