There is no reason for a cap.
There are actually benefits to limiting it. It encourages people to spend them on different cars and play the game more.
That many skill point will net you tens of thousands of xp.
Wouldn't surprise me if you gained 10 + levels doing so.
That means ten wheelspins too.
Just a thought.
Keeping them has no benefits.
Spending them =xp & levels & wheels pins. Oh and some cars even have xp to sell you for a skillpoint.

So as said i spend them on cars that are needed for achievements or for season races or things like that.
And so i horded 999 points..
