You can drive with both off, but if you're driving a RWD you need to be very gentle on the accelerator at low speeds, otherwise the power of your engine breaks traction on the rear wheels and then, well... [/quote]
I'd say it is first and foremost when accelerating out of corners and you haven't straightened out your steering/lateral Gs yet that RWD wants to bite you, and bite you badly.
i don't think its my driving ability, although i have only been playing since fh5 come out so there's a few things i don't get.
i can't tune for 2 different behaviour sets, is all.
In fact I'm at my best when my mind drifts and my sub conscious kinda takes over.

thanks stinger, i thought that was so.
all i am saying is that if i turn off traction control, it is fine on freedrive, but not on pvp. it is not my driving ability if i can do freedrive with assists off is it!
ergo, whatever the reason for the difference on pvp, some of us do get that change occur - which isn't fair is it!
I'm no expert at this stuff so don't consider what I say religion it's just stuff that helps me.
1. Most important. Breath
2. Drive the course not the cars around you. Deal with other drivers as they come don't focus exclusively on passing everyone.
3. Remember slow in fast out. The more you antisapte corners and line up for the apex and exit the faster you will be overall.
4. You don't have to be fist every race. Enjoy the drive relax do your best. This one is damn hard to do in this game.
5. Rwd cars practice a neutral (enough throttle to maintain momentum not speed up or slow down) throttle position through the apex. If your full on the gas on the apex or the breaks you have blown the turn entry or exit.
Hope this helps somebody.
its ok tho, there are ways in this game for everybody regardless off what your setup is. :) i find that e.g. ARB set at 50 13 - the opposite of what i do for AWD, helps a lot with how RWD works and oversteers in a different way.
abs = on
steering = simulated
traction control = off
stability control = off
shifting = manual
That's pretty hardcore
Manual shifting is preferable because you can use early upshifting to reduce risk of breaking traction.
steering = simulated
traction control = ON
stability control = off
shifting = manual
they could resolve the whole thing by making traction off not make your cars go mad - for some of us. i figured the devs done this to try to stop people using this on pvp?
as i say, i can use traction off for freedrive, but if i do that on pvp my cars are completely uncontrollable - and its not me! the internet is different for some of us perhaps, so its not you guys fault but imho devs should force traction on for pvp. this is because millions of people got less good internet, and seeing as said earlier, real racing does have it on, then why not?
Traction control is horrible because it slows you down by a lot. It's important to learn driving without it if you want good results online. If you find a RWD car difficult to drive then it's better to swap it to AWD instead of using TC to control it.
i have seen it a few times now, some people's cars go sideways and slide for ages - as mine did yesterday once. earlier today it was fine and i won 3 races, then just now my car was so slow i had to leave and reset my modem.
